Mission

Inspired by the Social Teachings of the Church and the continuous commitment of Cardinal George, the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Amate House supports and develops women and men rooted in the Catholic faith, dedicated to service and committed to encouraging a more just and loving society. The 35+ participants each year, ages 18 through 29, live together in several different intentional faith communities. The program includes educational opportunities, faith formation, and ministry-related service commitments over a 12-month time frame. In addition, as an agency in the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis, and Worship, the Amate House remains a resource to the other 17 Office Directors for efforts that enhance faith formation of Young Adults.
