Mission

The Office for European Catholics, with the guidance of Cardinal George, identifies the pastoral strengths, challenges and needs of the European ethnic communities present within the Archdiocese of Chicago. These communities include: Poles, Italians, Lithuanians, Croatians, Irish, Germans, Czechs, Slovaks, Slovenians, Hungarians and Latvians. These groups are represented on an Advisory Board coordinated by the director. A particular emphasis is placed on inter-agency contact to help formulate agency programs that are responsive to ethnic, cultural and immigrant concerns and needs of European Catholics.
