Mission

The Office of Hispanic Catholics serves Cardinal George under the Episcopal Liaison for Hispanic Affairs. This Office serves as a resource to pastors and pastoral agents serving the Hispanic Catholic community (over 40% of the Catholic population of the Archdiocese of Chicago) through network support resource materials. The Office provides up-to-date information about the demographics and ministerial activity of the Hispanic community within the Archdiocese of Chicago. In addition, as an agency in the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis, and Worship, this Office is a resource to the other 17 Office Directors in keeping the awareness of the strengths and challenges which the variety of Hispanic nationalities provide the Archdiocese.

The church in the United States, having clasped to its bosom so many of its immigrant children, has been growing thanks also to the vitality of the witness to faith of the Spanish-speaking faithful. Thus the Lord calls you to continue contributing to the future of the church in this country and to the spread of the Gospel.
