Description:
St. Anne Parish, Oswego, IL is seeking a full time Coordinator of Junior High Youth Ministry, under and with the guidance of the Director of Religious Education, to coordinate, implement, supervise and evaluate a comprehensive religious education program including catechesis, spiritual growth, sacramental preparation for Confirmation, social activities, and service opportunities for the junior high youth registered in St. Anne Parish, 6th through 8th grade. The Junior High Youth Minister is to organize and coordinate with the Director of Religious Education and the High School Youth Minister, a ministry that will provide a transition from junior high religious education to high school youth ministry.
Requirements:
Practicing Catholic who understands and supports the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Degree in Youth Ministry, Religious Education, or other related field is strongly preferred.
Experience working/volunteering with junior high youth and proficiency in relating to and working cooperatively with adults and adolescents.
Proven skills in communication, teaching, program administration, and interaction with others. Strength in administrative and organizational skills, and in recruiting and managing volunteers. Proven ability to honor and maintain confidentiality. Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Outlook, in addition to experience with and good understanding of social media and the use of current technology to evangelize.
Availability days, evenings, and weekends as the position requires.
