Description:

The Director of Youth Ministry coordinates and implements a systematic, balanced and comprehensive program for youth as outlined in the U.S. Bishops’ document, Renewing the Vision. This responsibility must be exercised in collaboration with parish staff members who share the responsibility for catechesis and faith formation. The Director of Youth Ministry works closely with the parish youth enrolled in High Schools around the city, as well as with the youth of our St. Benedict Secondary School (6th - 12th grades). The Director of Youth Ministry reaches out to all youth in the faith community, provides for formal catechesis, invites and enables youth to serve others, develops close communications with and mutual support from families of youth, and collaborates with other community and parish/school organizations. Salary is commensurate to experience. Please submit resumes to the Director of Catechesis by June 17th.

Requirements:

BA with a major in Religious Education or equivalent from an accredited Catholic institution plus additional catechetical and youth ministry courses as needed. Two or more years’ experience in a parish or Catholic school youth ministry or catechetical setting.
