Young adults are defined as high school graduate through thirty-five.) • Promote Christian service and outreach in the parish through intergenerational service projects. • Be an advocate for youth and young adults and educate the parish about the hopes, concerns and needs of youth and young adults in the church and the community. • Seek to integrate youth and young adult ministries into all phases of church life to create a culture that is intentionally intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries. • Assist in Confirmation preparation as needed using this opportunity to develop relationships with the Junior High population. • Mentor youth and young adults in developing their leadership skills. • Be a liaison between St. Giles and other community organizations, people and resources that relate to youth, young adults and service and outreach opportunities. • Be a presence in the St. Giles’ community through its liturgical and social activities. • Other duties as required. Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to careers@stgilesparish.org

Requirements:

Since the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries plays a major role in the faith development of the younger members of the church, both as a leader, and as an example, St. Giles seeks a professional leader who has a solid understanding of the foundations of the Catholic faith and who has a strong desire to nurture young people in their faith. We seek a person who generates new ideas and programs and a person who values a team concept of ministry. Therefore, the following qualifications are desirable. • A degree in Theology or Pastoral Studies • Vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement a youth and young adult ministry program, as well as service and outreach opportunities. • Excellent written and verbal communication and social media skills, leadership skills, conflict management skills, and organizational skills. • A proven ability to work effectively with youth and young adults. • A self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. • Have a heart for ministry and be committed to ongoing personal spiritual growth formation. Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to careers@stgilesparish.org
