Description:
The Director of Catechesis oversees the current eight ministries of the our St. Benedict Catechesis Commission, including our two-day, 265 student, Religious Education program, Baptismal preparation, Marriage prep, Children's Liturgy of the Word, RCIA, Spred, Adult Education, and Ministry to young families. Reporting to the Pastor, the Director of Catechesis joins the Associate Pastor, Pastoral Associate, Director of Youth Ministry, Director of Music, Head of Parish School, principals, and Senior outreach coordinator in the function of the Pastoral ministry of the Parish. The Director of Catechesis, meets regularly with the leaders of all the ministries to form the Catechetical Commission, who in turn, report to the Parish Council on the great function of the Catechetical ministries. Requirements:
A faith-filled person ready to take ownership for a large North-side of Chicago, vital Catechetical program. The successful applicant has some experience in shepherding and managing the eight vibrant ministries of our Catechetical Commission. Masters in Theology level requirement underlines the important role this person has in the pastoral work of our St. Benedict Parish. Working well with a large staff is a must, and flexibility, humility, and strong pastoral boundaries will ensure success for the candidate.
