Description:

1,200 household south suburban parish in Homewood-Flossmoor community seeks a competent Organist to accompany Cantor and Congregation for Sunday 8:30 a.m. Mass, plus select Liturgies of Christmas, Holy Week and Easter. Possibility of additional work including Funerals, Weddings, and serving as accompanist for Saturday 5:15 p.m., Sunday 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. Masses in the absence of the Director of Music.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Music or equivalent; 3-5 years of prior experience; some knowledge of Catholic ritual and liturgy. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate keyboard proficiency, including the accompanying of hymns, psalms, songs, and chant, re-harmonization of the aforementioned and sight-reading, in addition to creative organ registration. Piano only candidates need not apply. Candidates must complete all employment prerequisites defined by the Archdiocese of Chicago, including VIRTUS and Mandated Reporter Training.
