Description:
Position calls for an individual who is passionate about Jesus, youth discipleship, and the church. Relational ministry is key for all aspects of position. Our Lady of the Wayside has a well developed high school youth ministry centering around an active peer ministry component (small group faith sharing/formation), teen leadership (core), service throughout year as well as summer mission trip, and teen liturgical ministries including twice-a-month Teen Ministered Mass. Kaiors is also a strong component of the ministry.
At present, Jr. High Ministry focuses on bi-monthly 7th & 8th grade gatherings, monthly service projects and middle school age summer camp involving the formation of teen counselors. A dedicated core of adult volunteers is well established. The Director guides a part-time Associate Director of Youth Ministry and dedicated volunteer assistant. Collaboration with other parish youth ministers is essential for both Kairos and the summer camp. Participation in the parish middle school is also involved in this wonderful opportunity. Requirements:
We seek a passionate disciple of Christ with a deep spiritual life ready to invite the youth of our parish into a full active faith and relationship with the Lord. The candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic and hold a Bachelors degree in Theology, Catecheses, Youth Ministry, or related field. At least 3-5 years experience is preferred and available to start in August, yet if need be, we will wait for the right fit.
