Description:
The Saint Mary Parish, a suburban Chicago parish, seeks a Youth Ministry Coordinator providing comprehensive Youth Ministry & Faith Development programs, planning, coordinating and executing programs students grades 7-12. This would include social, spiritual, and service components. Recruiting and managing adult and youth volunteers - including catechists for Confirmation, and adult chaperons for social and service events, drop-in conversation evenings, retreats and mission trips. Preparing students for Confirmation - partners with Parish Staff to coordinate, prepare, and celebrate Confirmation masses for approximately 100 youth every year. Administrative duties include effective communication, record keeping, and data input. Encourages and facilitates youth to grow into ministers in the parish community. Effectively communicates and works closely with youth, day school staff, Religious Education Program, Parish Staff, Parish Pastoral Council, and most importantly parents, to provide transformative and faith-filled programs for our youth. Working knowledge of social media platforms.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: A practicing Catholic on fire with love for the Lord, fully engaged in parish life; Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Education, Youth Ministry, or related fields; Current Archdiocesan Youth Ministry certification or willingness to pursue certification; Faith-filled and grounded in Scripture, Tradition, and Prayer; Proven ability to relate to youth and create programs that engage and ignite teens; An active listener with who has a great sense of humor combined with vision, compassion, gratitude and patience. A team player with strong communication skills who works collaboratively Parish Staff.
