Description:
Under the direction of the pastor working alongside the principal and director of faith formation, the Marketing and Development Director is responsible for all marketing and fundraising activities that focus on the following objectives:
*Engaging more people in the life of the parish
*Increasing enrollment in the school and faith formation program
*Expanding the base of financial support
Create, implement and manage an annual marketing and development plan to accomplish these objectives, while effectively and positively communicating the vision and mission of the parish.
MARKETING
Create and manage marketing opportunities to increase engagement in the parish, and enrollment in the school and faith formation program. Target market includes prospective families, current families and local communities including Deerfield, Lincolnshire, Riverwoods, Bannockburn, Highland Park and Highwood.
The plan should consider but not be limited to: newsletters, surveys, promotional materials and activities, community education, social media,, parish and school website, and other related marketing efforts. Write, design and produce all communication materials for promotion and publicity. Collaborate with staff in planning and supporting marketing events including open houses, Catholic Schools Week, Hospitality Sunday, etc.
DEVELOPMENT
Manage existing and create new fundraising opportunities to expand the base of financial support for the parish, school and faith formation program. Fundraising activities to include, but not limited to: ways in which to increase parish offertory giving; special events; school fundraising programs; major gift solicitation; and alumni giving program. Prepare all solicitation materials, maintain accurate records, and generate acknowledgement letters for donations and gifts. Manage donor acknowledgement and recognition process. Create a consistent, organized approach for all parish, school and faith formation fundraising.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, volunteers, school parents, parishioners and surrounding community.
Work in partnership with finance council, pastoral council, school board and faith formation board.

Requirements:
*Experience in non-profit marketing and development
*Demonstrated understanding of parish life and Catholic education
*Excellent persuasive writing and communication skills
*Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated
*Team player with experience working with staff and volunteers
*Proficiency with basic computer software and social media
