Description:

The Community Relations Director is responsible for leading and managing the St. Gall Parish Fund (“Friends of St. Gall”) Community Relations and Resource Development Programs. The Director raises awareness and funds for the ministry and school programs at the Parish where almost 4,000 parishioners are represented. The Community Relations Director personally represents St. Gall Parish (Church and School) and supports benefactors and potential benefactors in their desire to aide in the advancement of our mission. The Director maintains a portfolio of “Friends of St. Gall” Fund benefactors; (S)he conducts discovery, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of the “Friends of St. Gall” Fund benefactors and potential benefactors. This position requires enthusiasm for community relations/development, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a desire to grow in understanding of the fund development field. Additionally, this position requires the ability to work as an effective team member in a fast-paced, result-driven environment. Other responsibilities include building strategic relationships within the community and other central Catholic organizations in the Chicagoland area. Position Responsibilities: ? Prepares annual plans for all Community Relations and Resource development activities. ? Develops and maintains a three-year external relation plan and three-year fundraising, plan; meeting goals and metrics. ? Coordinating design of communication materials, and grant applications. ? Schedules and conducts face-to-face benefactor visits. ? Develops and maintains a portfolio of “Friends of St. Gall” Fund including Alumni, current and potential benefactors. ? Manages Sharing Parish relationship. ? Works in conjunction with the Pastor on developing and maintaining key relationships. ? Provides strong, creative and energetic leadership within St. Gall Parish. ? Attends meetings/events as requested/necessary. ? Participates in maximizing already existing Parish/School fundraising events. ? Assist in specific tasks essential to the function of the position as required. ? Evening and early morning hours as necessary.

Requirements:

- A practicing and faithful Catholic in good standing, who loves the Church and sees development work as an essential ministry and enjoys to work independently. - Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s preferred. - 1-3 years in Development Preferred, 3-5 years in Development experience a plus. - Ability to travel as necessary to meet with benefactors and potential benefactors. - Conversational Spanish and enthusiasm for the Latino culture preferred. - Computer literate (Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Database, PowerPoint) preferably Microsoft Office.
