Strategic Pastoral Plan
Q&A

Q:  Why was there a need to develop a Strategic Pastoral Plan?

A:  The overarching goal of the Strategic Pastoral Plan is to grow the Catholic community of faith in each parish in the Archdiocese by 20 percent by 2016.

Q: What is the purpose of the Strategic Pastoral Plan?
A: The purpose of the Strategic Pastoral Plan is to more deeply incorporate baptized Catholics into the Catholic Church over the entire course of their lives.

Q:  How is every parish expected to participate in the Strategic Pastoral Plan?
A:  There will be optional resources for each of the areas of focus, and pastors will be able to choose from a variety of suggested "best practices" to help make the Strategic Pastoral Plan come alive in their respective parishes.  These resources will be posted on the Strategic Pastoral Plan web page and also sent to each parish electronically.

Q:  How will parishes receive current information and resources?
A:  Each pastor will be able to name a specific contact person who will receive regular email updates and resources as they become available.

Q:  How does a parish begin implementing the plan?
A:  Pastors and their staff and consultative bodies are requested to prepare plans for their parish based on their strengths and needs, beginning with an assessment where parish groups can provide input.
