During his first night out of intensive care after his surgery, Cardinal George slept very well. He is resting and is continuing to recuperate. Today the Cardinal will spend some time walking and will have physical therapy later this afternoon. His physicians have also prescribed a fair amount of quiet time to rest and heal. Earlier this morning Cardinal George received communion from Most Rev. John Canary, Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Chicago. The Cardinal said his morning and mid-day prayers with some of his staff. The Cardinal is in good spirits and is enjoying the well wishes he is receiving from people throughout the Chicagoland area and the world. He is also looking forward to gradually resuming more normal activities in the days and weeks ahead.
