The Cardinal had a good night, feels well today, has much less pain, and is enjoying a more normal diet. He is looking forward to increasing his time in physical therapy and rehabilitation. All the Cardinal's vital signs are stable, there is no fever, and his blood counts are steady.

The weekend will be devoted to physical therapy and healing. The Cardinal continues to work on the business of the Archdiocese of Chicago with the Vicar General, Very Rev. John Canary and the Chancellor, Jimmy Lago.

This morning, the Cardinal again expressed his appreciation for all the prayers being said for his favorable course of recovery and requested that these prayers continue.
