Released from Loyola University Medical Center

Cardinal George was released from Loyola University Medical Center today and has returned home to his Residence.
The Cardinal will continue his recuperation and physical therapy during the upcoming weeks and is expected to work from home until resuming his public schedule after October 1.
The Vicar General, Very Rev. John Canary and Chancellor Jimmy Lago will continue to meet with the Cardinal at the Residence about all matters relating to the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Cardinal George has expressed his appreciation for the fine work and the highly competent care that he received from his doctors, nurses and staff at Loyola University Medical Center and acknowledged their professional and personal concern for him.
The Cardinal continues to be grateful for the prayers said on his behalf and the well wishes received from people throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago and around the world.
