The Act of Loving God
Jesus tells us: “Dwell in my love.” Sometimes we are afraid of love because it makes demands on us. Jesus himself adds: “If you love me, keep my commandments.”
Perhaps the greatest fear love brings is the fear of betraying someone we love. Faced with loving God, the heroic part of us says: “Let me love you as you would have me love you.” But the not so heroic part of us, aware of our weakness, is content to pray: “Let me love you as you know I am able to love you.”
