Keep in touch
“Keep in touch,” we sometimes say after a conversation with a friend we haven’t seen for some time. Now, keeping in touch is made easier by electronic connections of all kinds. Predating cell phones, iPods, e-mail, texting and the like was the Holy Spirit.
When Jesus returned to the Father, he promised to keep in touch through the Holy Spirit, whom he sent to live in our hearts and to plead our cause at the heart of God’s own life. The Holy Spirit is the glue of the Church, the source of mission, the font of life and generosity. Pure spirit and therefore free, the Holy Spirit keeps us in touch with God and with everyone God loves.
Francis Cardinal George, OMI
