• Agree to disagree
• Accept and work with the polarities*
• Avoid repeating the mistakes of the past
• Maintain integrity and congruency
• Work hard to maintain a satisfying relationship
• Maintain and nurture “the value set”
  • Unconditional positive regard for the other
  • Commitment to the relationship
  • “Prizing the differences” between us as differing gifts yet…
  • Maintaining your own congruence

*Some continuous matters are not problems to be solved but polarities to be managed AKA not “either-or” but “both-and”
