The Office of the Chancellor manages and coordinates the activities of the departments and agencies/offices within the Pastoral Center and oversees specific functions under the headings of planning, management and communications.

The Chancellor is responsible for the communication of official announcements regarding priests, deacons and parishes. Canonical issues are referred to the Vicar for Canonical Services, Fr. Patrick Lagges, or to the Associate Vicar for Canonical Services, Fr. Richard Saudis and Fr. Jeff Grob. Issues concerning extern, international and religious priests are referred to Fr. Jeremiah Boland, the Archbishop's Delegate for Extern and International Priests.

Mr. John J. Treanor, Vice-Chancellor, is responsible for maintaining the archives and records of the Archdiocese, which are located at the Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Archives and Records Center - 711 West Monroe Street, Chicago, Illinois 60661. (Archives and Records)
