To celebrate Muslim/Catholic Dialogue on February 24, 2011 and throughout the year, we invite you to prayerfully, gratefully and seriously study the ground breaking document of the Second Vatican Council, Nostra Aetate, (#3), which states:
The Church regards with esteem also the Muslims.
They adore the one God, living and subsisting in Himself…though they do not acknowledge Jesus as God, they revere Him as a prophet.
They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother...they value the moral life and worship God especially through prayer, almsgiving and fasting.
…this sacred synod urges all to forget the past and to work sincerely for mutual understanding
and to preserve as well as to promote together …social justice and moral welfare,
as well as peace and freedom.
Also we invite you to read the Muslim/Catholic materials on our web site – Who is My Neighbor? – brief notes to help us learn about Islam and Muslims
