JOSEPH CARDINAL BERNARDIN JERUSALEM LECTURE SERIES

On March 23, 1995, Joseph Cardinal Bernardin delivered a lecture entitled “Antisemitism: The Historical Legacy and the Continuing Challenge for Christians” in Senate Hall of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The lecture was the centerpiece of his visit to Israel.

The Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Jerusalem Lecture continues this dialogue between Jews and Catholics with an annual lectureship on the theological issues affecting their relationship.

The fourteenth annual Lecture will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 7 — 9 p.m. at DePaul University — Lincoln Park Student Center, 2250 N. Sheffield Ave. (Room 120 A & B), Chicago. Professor Jon D. Levenson will address "Monotheism and Chosenness: The Abrahamic Foundation of Judaism and Roman Catholicism." Click here for a downloadable flyer.

Printed copies of the 2008 Lecture will soon be available. Individual copies of the 1996-2008 Lectures, as well as complete sets, can also be obtained by calling 312-534-5325 or e-mailing eia@archchicago.org.
