New Pastoral Minister Orientation
The Office for Lay Ecclesial Ministry offers an annual orientation day for newly hired pastoral ministers. The orientation provides information on -
- The roles of Pastoral Associate and Pastoral Minister
- Pastoral Associate certification
- P.A.A.C. - the professional organization of pastoral associates in the Archdiocese of Chicago
- The assistance and services offered by other Archdiocesan agencies/offices
- Other information requested by new pastoral associates and pastoral ministers to assist them in their new ministry
Annual Gathering with the Cardinal
At the end of the calendar year, the Cardinal meets with all certified pastoral associates over lunch to discuss their ministry concerns. The gathering culminates with the awarding of formal certificates to all pastoral associates certified during the year.
