Archdiocese releases documents relating to 30 priests accused of abusing minors

On Jan. 15, the Archdiocese of Chicago released more than 6,000 pages of documents related to cases involving 30 priests accused of sexual abuse. The documents were given to Jeffrey Anderson, an attorney for abuse victims. Anderson is expected to make the files public the week of Jan. 26.

This January, as was announced a month ago in a press conference by a plaintiff’s lawyer, documents relating to the sexual misconduct of 30 priests of the archdiocese will be released as part of settlement agreements over the past years.

Documents related to decades-old cases of abuse to be released

On Jan. 15, or shortly thereafter, attorneys representing abuse claimants, in cooperation with the Archdiocese of Chicago, will be releasing documents pertaining to 30 archdiocesan priests who have been accused of abusing minors at various times during the last half century. The release is a result of a mediation agreement between claimants and the archdiocese.
