Archdiocese of Chicago Names New
Media Relations Director
 
  CHICAGO (July 26, 2006) – Susan Burritt has been promoted to the position of Media Relations Director in the Department of Communications, reporting to Colleen Dolan, Director of Communications and Public Relations. She replaces Jim Dwyer who has assumed a similar position with the Diocese of Phoenix.

For the past two years Burritt has served as Director of School Marketing and Communications where she was responsible for internal and external marketing, communications, and public relations for our elementary and high schools, as well as the Office of Catholic Schools. Prior to her association with the Archdiocese of Chicago, she served as Group Manager for Public Relations and Engagement Marketing at Chicago’s Burrell Communications Group where she managed Fortune 500 clients’ national and local media programs, sponsorships, promotions, marketing campaigns and crisis communications. She was also Director of Membership and Development for the Union League Club of Chicago and Vice President of Marketing at LaSalle Northwest National Bank where she was responsible for media relations, advertising, promotions, public relations, crisis planning and communications.

A Chicago native, Burritt received her MBA from Dominican University in River Forest and is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago and Maria High School. She and her husband Chris live in Oak Park and are members of St. Edmund Parish.
