FIFTH ANNUAL ARCHDIOCESAN MASS FOR LIFE
Marks 34th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade Decision
CHICAGO, IL (January 2, 2007)—Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago, will be the principal celebrant at the annual Archdiocesan Mass for Life, 5 p.m. Saturday, January 6, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 1351 W. Evergreen Ave., Chicago.
According to Margie Manczko-Breen, Program Manager of the Archdiocesan Respect Life Office, "This fifth annual Mass for Life will bring together Archdiocesan Catholics to remember the children lost and women wounded from 34 years of abortion across the United States, and to pray that our culture promotes the respect and protection of life at all stages, especially that of the unborn.”
Members of the Priests Advisory Board to the Archdiocese’s Respect Life Office will concelebrate the Mass, which this year precedes by nearly two weeks the Archdiocese’s annual pilgrimage to Washington, DC. This event always draws hundreds of thousands of participants from across the U.S. and Chicago for the annual March for Life and related events.
