ARCHDIOCESAN PARISH LEADERS TO GATHER ON FEBRUARY 7
Unity in Diversity: The Church Speaks to the World to be this Year’s Theme
Chicago, IL (January 22, 2009) – Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I, Archbishop of Chicago, will participate in Parish Leadership/Evangelization Day, February 7, at Maria High School, 6727 South California Avenue in Chicago. Cardinal George will dialog with participants during a question and answer session following lunch and will present a workshop titled “A Universal Church Speaks to a Global Society” beginning at 2:40 p.m. The Cardinal will be the celebrant at the closing liturgy.
Participants will be able to choose from more than 90 workshops on topics such as mission, evangelization, parish council training, worship and service presented in English, Spanish and Polish by experienced and renowned leaders.
Delivering the keynote address in English at 8:45 a.m. will be Hector Antonio Molina, Jr., founding director of the Office of the New Evangelization of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Molina will present the keynote address again in Spanish at 10:15 a.m.
Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, founder and director of Aurem Cordis, a Christian evangelization and apologetics organization that promotes Catholic teaching, will be the homilist at the closing liturgy at 4:10 p.m. Deacon Harold has been featured on the Eternal Word Television Network’s “Life on the Rock” and hosts “Behold the Man,” an EWTN series on male spirituality.
