CATHOLICS BEING “WELCOMED HOME” THROUGHOUT
THE ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO
(Please note correct address for St. Michael Parish on Chicago’s southeast side.)
Chicago, IL (January 25, 2010) – The evangelization initiative, Catholics Come Home Chicago, is inviting Catholics who have been away from the Church to experience forgiveness and renewal with additional times for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. While parishes already have local schedules, twenty-two Catholic churches in the Archdiocese of Chicago will offer unique timing opportunities for Reconciliation on Monday evening, February 1, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Catholics Come Home Chicago campaign completed the first part of its three overlapping components last week. “The Invitation” centered on nearly 2,000 television commercials that aired in English, Spanish and Polish in the metropolitan area since mid-December. The campaign has now entered “The Welcome” phase by parishes as they receive people who have decided to return to the practice of the faith.
Returning Catholics, new Catholics or those wishing to learn more about the faith can visit www.CatholicsComeHomeCHICAGO.org. This web site also includes more information about parishes participating in the day of Reconciliation and a guide to the Sacrament, frequently asked questions, as well as a directory link to all 357 parishes in Cook and Lake counties.
The following 22 Churches in Chicago and the suburbs will offer opportunities for Reconciliation on February 1 from 7 to 9 p.m.
