VOCATION PARISH TRAINING PROGRAM
Chicago, IL (April 9, 2010) – The Vocation Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago will present its second Vocation Parish Training session on Saturday, April 24, beginning with Mass at 8 a.m., at Archbishop Quigley Center, 835 North Rush Street in Chicago.
The Vocation Parish Training program will offer proven ideas and practical steps to increase vocation awareness as an integral part of a parish’s faith formation programs. Fr. Joseph Noonan, Director of the Archdiocesan Vocation Office, will conduct the session focusing on promoting a culture of vocations in parishes that will help potential priesthood candidates discern their vocation.
Attendees will learn about: the importance of having a Vocation Parish Contact Person or Committee, how to promote vocations, what discernment events are available through the Vocation Office, which resources are readily available for parish use, and how to create and execute an Action Plan that will encourage vocations to the priesthood.
