ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO NAMES NEW
DIRECTOR OF THE RESPECT LIFE OFFICE
Chicago, IL (January 21, 2011) - Msgr. Richard P. Hynes, Director of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Parish Life and Formation Department, has named Margie Manczko Breen, Director of the Respect Life Office.
For the past eight years, Manczko Breen has been the Program Manager of the Respect Life Office, where she served as the primary contact to over 200 Parish Respect Life Coordinators in Cook and Lake counties. In addition to designing and implementing new training and mentoring methods, she expanded the Respect Life Office’s Project Rachel ministry to post-abortive women and men by implementing a new support group model and enhanced the program to offer post-abortion healing outreach to both the Polish and Spanish speaking communities. She also launched a Polish language hotline.
For the past seven years, Manczko Breen has represented the Archdiocese at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Pro-Life Secretariat meetings and serves as the program host for the Respect Life Office’s radio program, Life Talk, heard from 9 to 10 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month on Relevant Radio, 950-AM.
Manczko Breen received her Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Communication, from Loyola University Chicago and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Loyola’s Institute for Pastoral Studies.
Manczko Breen, originally from St. Robert Bellarmine Parish on Chicago’s northwest side, resides in Lombard, in the Joliet Diocese, with her husband Peter.
