CATHOLIC CEMETERIES TO ASSIST WITH BURIALS FOR DECEASED
FROM MEDICAL EXAMINER'S OFFICE
Chicago (June 4, 2013) - The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Chicago continues to assist the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office with the burial of the indigent.
Various funeral directors from Chicago and the suburbs, who continue to volunteer their services, will bring the remains for burial of 17 adults and 60 unborn to Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 2755 West 111th Street in Chicago, on Wednesday, June 5. Msgr. Patrick J. Pollard, Director of Catholic Cemeteries, will preside over the prayer service scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
These services are provided to Cook County as part of the Catholic Cemeteries offer in February of 2012 to provide up to 300 graves to alleviate the backlog of human remains awaiting burial from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
