  Fr. Clarence Juchcinski Dies
Pastor Emeritus of St. John the Baptist Parish, Harvey
 
  CHICAGO (September 29, 2004) – Father Clarence Juchcinski, pastor emeritus of St. John the Baptist Parish, Harvey, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, at age 82 from complications following heart surgery.

A Chicago native, Father Juchcinski graduated from Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary and University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary. He was ordained in 1948 by Samuel Cardinal Stritch.

Father Juchcinski was associate pastor at St. John the Baptist Parish, Harvey, from 1948-51; St. Josaphat, from 1951-56; Assumption B.V.M., from 1956-63; St. Mary Magdalene, from 1963-64; and St. Joseph, Chicago Heights, from 1964-70.

He was pastor at St. Joseph from 1970-84. He then served as pastor at St. John the Baptist, Harvey, from 1984 until his retirement in 1992. Father Juchcinski had been living independently in the parish since his retirement.

Visitation for Father Juchcinski will be held from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, and from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at St. John the Baptist Parish, 15746 Union Ave., Harvey. Bishop Thad Jakubowski will be the main celebrant at a funeral Mass for Father Juchcinski at 7 p.m. Oct. 1, at St. John the Baptist. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City.
