of the Resurrection before becoming incardinated in the Archdiocese of Chicago in
2007. He was ordained a priest in 1982.

Fr. Twarog served at several parishes in the Archdiocese including, St. Peter in
Skokie, St. John Vianney in Northlake and St. Pascal and St. John Cantius parishes
He was a former Air Force chaplain who had a great love for teaching. Fr.
George Koene, pastor of St. Eugene and Deacon Chick O’Leary, St. Eugene’s
business manager, both spoke of Fr. Twarog’s enthusiasm for the classroom.
“He loved being in the school so much,” said Deacon O’Leary, “they
gave him his own classroom.” “He taught at all grade levels,”
O’Leary added, “and he loved telling stories about his teaching.”
Fr. Koene described Fr. Twarog as an avid reader who transferred his teaching
skills easily to the pulpit, where he delivered great homilies. According
to Fr. Koene, Fr. Twarog was listed as number four on a list of great homilists
in Chicago at one time. “He was a great parish priest, too, Fr. Koene noted,
“he did a lot of bereavement work and hospital visits and was readily available
to work with families and couples getting married.”
