Bishop Jakubowski is a retired Auxiliary Bishop and former Vicar of Vicariate IV in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Since his priesthood ordination he has served in a number of educational, parish, and diocesan ministries. After assignments as associate pastor (St. Ann, 18 th and Leavitt, St. Bartholmew), teacher of classical languages and Dean of Students in the minor seminary, pastor (St. Robert Bellarmine) and urban dean, he was ordained an Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago in 1988. As Auxiliary Bishop, he addressed the needs of Vicariate IV of the Archdiocese, a territory comprising 59 parishes, one mission and one apostolate in northwest Chicago and the western suburbs of Cook County. He retired as Episcopal Vicar of Vicariate VI in May, 2003. He is the executive director of the Catholic League for Religious Assistance to Poland and Co-Vicar for Senior Priests in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
