'The Catholic New World' Becomes 'Chicago Catholic'

New Design, New Columnists Reposition Biweekly as Leading Destination for Catholic Conversation
Chicago, IL (January 18, 2017) – New World Publications of the Archdiocese of Chicago announced today the redesign its English-language newspaper, The Catholic New World. It will now carry the name Chicago Catholic, as the paper was called in 1980s, and feature an expanded roster of regular contributors, as well as book, film, and TV reviews. The change marks the newspaper’s 125th year of publication.

Notice of Decrees Uniting Parishes and Relegation of a Parish Church to Use Other Than Divine Worship

A plan to unite St. Thaddeus Parish, in the Princeton Park neighborhood in the City of Chicago, with St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, in the adjacent Washington Heights neighborhood in the City of Chicago, was presented to the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Chicago and discussed in September and November last year, at regular meetings of the Council.

Chicago, IL (January 6, 2016) –January 22, 2016, marks the 43rd anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions that legalized abortion on demand throughout all nine months of pregnancy. The Archdiocese of Chicago's Respect Life Office will be participating in events and activities throughout the month of January that focus on offering prayers and actions to call attention to their mission to ensure that every human life is valued and protected from the moment of conception until natural death. A number of special Respect Life events and Masses will be hosted around the Archdiocese, which can be found at www.respectlifechicago.org.
