Religious Priests and Long-Term Ministry

Screening for religious order priests is done by the religious order, which provides the Office for Externs and International Priests with a Statement of Suitability for Ministry letter similar to the one requested from an ordinary. For long-term assignments, religious priests are also required to complete the requirements needed for the granting of faculties. In cases where a religious order priest is serving in a diocesan parish and living outside his religious community, there are specific procedures that must be followed.
