Archdiocese of Chicago Radio Programs Move to WNDZ 750-AM Starting January 8, 2018 at 8 a.m.

The switch from Relevant Radio to 750-AM includes a new time slot and changes to radio show lineups

Chicago, IL (January 8, 2018) – Today the Archdiocese of Chicago’s radio programming moves from Relevant Radio to WNDZ 750-AM. Listeners will find Catholic Chicago radio programs on 750-AM, between WGN 720-AM and WBBM 780-AM during weekday mornings, from 8 to 9 a.m. The switch to a new radio home is a result of Relevant Radio’s merger with Immaculate Heart Radio and subsequent programming changes.

“With Renew My Church and all the many activities happening in the Archdiocese, it’s a critical time for us to maintain a daytime radio presence,” said Jim Disch, Archdiocese of Chicago Radio-TV Director. “Radio is a tremendous evangelization tool that can touch thousands of people in just a few minutes.”

Schedule changes include moving a one-hour Spanish-language radio program that had aired on Saturday mornings on WSBC/WCFJ to Friday at 8 a.m. on 750-AM. The new lineup gives the Archdiocese expanded local programming on the same station, Monday – Friday, at the height of morning drive-time. Archdiocese programs include the call-in talk show, Catholic Chicago, hosted by Holy Name Cathedral Rector Fr. Greg Sakowicz, along with shows about Catholic Charities, Catholic schools, the Catholic Conference of Illinois and the many ministries of the archdiocese.

The Archdiocese of Chicago has had a radio presence since the early 2000s and for more than 10 years, Relevant Radio has aired archdiocese-produced shows on its local Chicago stations. The Archdiocese will continue to have a presence on Relevant Radio with a weekly, hour-long show called Catholic Chicago Week in Review, airing on Saturdays at 9 a.m. on local Relevant Radio stations WNTD 950-AM and WAUR 930-AM. This broadcast will focus on the work of the archdiocese’s various ministries.
