Dear Parishioners, Staff and Friends of San José Luis Sánchez del Rio Parish,

I regret to inform you that I have removed Father Gary Graf as pastor of San José Luis Sanchez del Rio Parish pending the outcome of an investigation into an allegation of code of conduct violations involving a minor. While we do not have the full details on the allegation, Father Graf has agreed to step aside while it is investigated thoroughly.

Bishop Alberto Rojas will serve as administrator of San José Luis Sánchez del Rio Parish, effective immediately. Bishop Rojas is the episcopal vicar for Vicariate III and he will ensure your parish receives pastoral care.

I realize this news comes at a difficult time, especially as you come together as one parish and celebrate your future as a faith community. Please know that I am close to you in prayer. My simple request is that God grant you the grace of patience as we work to evaluate this allegation. Only in this way can we remain true to our promise to safeguard our parishioners, especially children and youth, our most important concern. We pledge to keep you informed of any new developments. In the meanwhile, know of my gratitude to all of you at San José Luis Sánchez del Rio parish for your generous understanding.
