Epiphany Catholic School will Reopen Good Shepherd Catholic School in Little Village for the 2021-2022 school year to Meet the Growing Demand for Early Childhood Education in the Little Village Area

Epiphany intends to restore Good Shepherd’s full, preschool- 8th grade school operation in the future
Chicago, (June 1, 2021) – The Good Shepherd Catholic School building at 2725 S. Kolin Ave. in Little Village will be reopened for the 2021-22 school year to house an expansion of neighboring Epiphany Catholic School’s preschool and kindergarten programs. The intent is to grow Good Shepherd into a full, Preschool- 8th grade school building again in the future.

Archdiocese of Chicago Provides Update on the Kedzie-Elston Corridor Renew My Church Grouping

The Archdiocese of Chicago today announced an update on the Kedzie-Elston Corridor Renew My Church grouping. Over the past several months, the grouping’s Feedback and Discernment Team, made up of representatives from each of the parishes and schools, met to review and discern the future parish, school and church structures for their respective areas. Based on their meetings and discussions with the larger parish communities, they submitted feedback reports to the Archdiocesan Standards and Recommendations Commission, which includes representatives from across the archdiocese. The commission reviewed the feedback reports and other materials and information, including demographic data, financial summaries and parish and grouping trends.

Cardinal Blase J. Cupich to Ordain Nine Priests for the Archdiocese of Chicago on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Holy Name Cathedral

The new priests will begin their assignments on July 1, 2021
Chicago - (May 13, 2021) – Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, archbishop of Chicago, will ordain eight diocesan priests and one Canon Regular of St. John Cantius at 10 a.m., on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 North State St., Chicago. The newly ordained priests, ranging in age from 26 to 55, hail from the Archdiocese of Chicago, as well as California, Michigan, Virginia, Colombia, Mexico and Poland.

Archdiocese of Chicago Partners with the University of Notre Dame to Launch Early Childhood Language Intensive Core Curriculum in 10 Chicago-Area Schools Next Fall

Preschool teachers and teaching assistants will begin training this summer to develop a curriculum in English and Spanish, Polish or Mandarin Chinese for 3- and 4-Year-Olds.
Chicago, (May 11, 2021) –The Archdiocese of Chicago, in partnership with the Alliance for Catholic Education at the University of Notre Dame, will launch a pilot program next fall, the Early Childhood Language Intensive Preschool (ECLIP). ECLIP will offer intensive daily core studies instruction in Spanish, Polish or Mandarin Chinese to Pre-K students.

The online prayer service will include prayers, readings and reflections from school students, clergy and staff to bring awareness to child abuse prevention and pray for the eradication of abuse in all of its forms. The service is observed in April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
