Cardinal Blase J. Cupich to Host the Fourth Annual Celebrating Catholic Education Breakfast on January 23, 2018 at 7:30 a.m.

Rev. John I. Jenkins, President of the University of Notre Dame, will be the keynote speaker

Chicago, IL (January 19, 2018) – Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago, will host the fourth annual Celebrating Catholic Education Breakfast on January 23, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. at the Hilton Chicago, 720 South Michigan Avenue. Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., President of the University of Notre Dame, will deliver the keynote address. Cardinal Cupich and Dr. Jim Rigg, Superintendent of the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools, will both deliver remarks. Alan Krashesky, ABC-7 Chicago news anchor and reporter, will emcee the event.

“Our goal for our Catholic schools is to provide a rigorous academic education and loving environment to develop Christian stewards for our communities and prepare them for the future,” said Cardinal Cupich. “This fundraiser ensures that an exceptional Catholic education is available to families throughout Cook and Lake Counties.”

The Celebrating Catholic Education Breakfast will benefit innovative academic programs in the Archdiocese’s Catholic schools, with a focus on classroom technology, teacher coaching, dual language immersion and resources for students with specialized learning needs. Proceeds will also support professional development programs for principals.

“We take great pride that our schools are a vital part of the Church and the communities we live in and serve,” said Dr. Jim Rigg. “For generations, our schools have produced successful graduates who are socially-minded and civically engaged. This event is a great opportunity to celebrate the gifts and talents of our students and families, faculty and staff.”

More than 400 people are expected to attend this year’s event. In previous years, the breakfast has raised more than $150,000 annually. Tickets are $150 each or $1,500 for a table of 10. Limited sponsorship opportunities are still available at all levels.
