In April 2017, Pope Francis sent a letter to Cardinal Blase Cupich to express his support and encouragement for the efforts the archdiocese and Chicagoans are making to create peace. You can read Pope Francis’ letter here.

The Archdiocese of Chicago remains committed to helping create a culture of nonviolence. As part of that effort, archdiocesan parishes have come together to lead Via Crucis, peace walks, sunrise prayer services, and continue in the role of local peacemakers.
